Wrexham food officer needs help – locally sourced project
ARE you a local grower or producer who is passionate about food?
Or perhaps a Wrexham business which wants to offer more regional products to your customers?
If so, then Caroline Dawson, Northern Marches Cymru’s new local food officer, wants to hear from you.
She said: ‘Wrexham is a county rich in local produce it can really be proud of. I want to hear from more of our rural growers and producers to identify how the new local food project may be able to help them.
‘I’m also keen to get in contact with more of our local suppliers, shops, schools, restaurants and hotels to identify ways in which we can all support our local producers more and benefit from the fantastic food on offer in the area.”
Caroline’s new project aims to support local farmers and identify ways in which it can strengthen local supply chains to include more Wrexham foodstuffs.
The Local Food project has received funding from the Rural Development Plan for Wales 2007-2013 which is financed by the Welsh Assembly Government and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
